About RUWADI
Rural Women’s Empowerment & Agricultural Development Initiative (RUWADI) is a grassroots movement in the rural regions of The Gambia with its head office in Basse, Upper River Region. We exist to uplift rural women and girls through sustainable agriculture, educational access, health awareness, and financial independence.
RUWADI’s Team
Meet the passionate individuals leading our vision. Our team spans across four core areas:
- Founders — Visionary pioneers behind RUWADI’s foundation.
- Developers — Technical minds building our digital and data infrastructure.
- Human Resources — The team managing people, onboarding, and internal growth.
- Outreach & Partnerships — Our ambassadors who build community and donor relations.
We Are On A Mission:
To empower rural women and girls through inclusive, sustainable, and community-driven programs in agriculture, education, and gender equity.
We Envision:
A thriving and equitable society where rural women are recognized as key drivers of economic and social transformation.
Our History
RUWADI was born out of the growing need to bridge gender gaps in rural farming communities. We began with small-scale training workshops and now run fully structured programs that benefit hundreds of women across the region.
Our Values
- Equality: Promoting equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender.
- Empowerment: Building capacity through knowledge and access.
- Sustainability: Encouraging climate-smart and resilient development.
- Community: Engaging local voices in leadership and impact.
